Child Protection Policy

All children and young people who are involved in Knox Presbyterian Church Lower Hutt (Knox Church) activities, services, events or programmes have a right to feel and be safe. Knox is committed to providing safe environments where children and young people are cared for, respected and nurtured.

This policy document is based on the Child Protection Policy (CPP) that has been determined by the Council of Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand (“the Church”) to be applied by all parts of Knox Church in relation to child protection. The Church believes it is critical to have competent and committed governance and leadership which develops and maintains a child safe culture. For the policy to be effective it requires awareness and knowledge in all parts of Knox Church. It requires a commitment to shared personal responsibility to ensure children and young people are protected.
